Iris has been making functional pottery in her Seastar Studio overlooking Three Fathom Harbour for over 20 years. Most of her work is inspired by the sea and enhanced by her experiences with snorkeling and diving.

Iris’ pottery journey in clay began while living in Belgium and she has since learned most of her craft here in Nova Scotia, taking classes with Carol Smeraldo at Atlantic pottery supplies.

Over the years Iris has tabled in many different techniques and this year she has decided to add some bright colour to her work by making her functional pottery with coloured clay which she dyes herself.
