Tonya MacPhail with the help of her sister Shannon creates beautiful, bright, colorful works of art that represent the community and culture of Highway 207 perfectly.

Tonya’s paintings of everything from surfing and ocean scenes to backyard chickens and brightly painted houses are hugely popular with locals and visitors alike. Tonya is a self-taught artist who as well as painting creates one-of-a-kind jewelry pendants and earrings and often smaller original works of art from re purposed driftwood, plywood and sea glass. Many of Tonya’s pieces are created by carving an image into wood and painting it.

Tonya is a self-taught artist who has always enjoyed drawing, painting and woodwork. She is inspired by waves and wildlife. Her process is to simply go to her work table and see what happens. Usually she has many projects on the go.
