2026 Artist Application

Deadline to apply is June 23, 2026
Tour date is Sunday September 27, 2026

Surfside Studio Tour is a free, self-guided tour of artist and artisan studios. It differs from art and craft markets in that it offers visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process for a diverse range of art forms. Through this unique event we aim to enhance appreciation of artistic thought and process through learning and personalized connections with artists and artisans. During the event you also have the opportunity to sell your work to the public. We highly recommend having an assistant help you with sales during the event so that you can focus on the interaction and education with the public.

The fee to participate for returning artists is $80. As a new initiative for 2026 applications we offer first-time participants a reduced rate of $50.

Applications for Surfside Studio Tour are open to artists or craftspeople who live in Lawrencetown, East or West Lawrencetown, Three Fathom Harbour, Seaforth, Grand Desert and West Chezzetcook.  Some exceptions are made if an applicant lives just outside of these parameters, has a strong connection to these communities, and has an artist or craftsperson able to host them on the day of the tour.

We use a points system during the review process. Below are the things we are considering when looking at your application along with the corresponding number of points weighted to each criteria:

  1. Have a studio space on the tour route you are willing to open to the public (Hwy 207) (2 points)

  2. Creative involvement in work and originality of design (3 points)

  3. Quality craftsmanship (2 points)

  4. Interactive component/demonstration at their tour stop (3 points)

NOTE: Applicants applying from outside the parameters listed above will need to score full points in all other categories to be considered. That means you must have an interactive component/demonstration at your stop.
